He is responsible for executing our mission to create new technology and business models for the delivery of digital magazines to consumers around the world. Under Morgan’s leadership, Next Issue is combining Silicon Valley innovation with the world’s greatest brands, bridging the left and right coasts to create a digital magazine experience that delights consumers, delivers new unlimited value and drives deeper reader engagement.
Morgan is also dedicated to creating incremental business and revenue opportunities for the publishing industry as a whole, and increasing its overall mindshare among consumers, while delivering value across the entire industry value chain – including consumers, advertisers, publishers, and distributors.
Joining the venture in June 2010, Morgan brings deep entrepreneurial, management, and deal-making experience in the technology, wireless and digital media industries, where he has headed and advised innovative companies rooted in Silicon Valley.
Before joining Next Issue, Morgan was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AirPlay, a wireless entertainment services company. Prior to this, he was with TiVo Inc., as President from 2001 through 2003 and, before that, as Vice President and Senior Vice President of Business Development and Revenue Operations. Prior to his runs with AirPlay and TiVo, Morgan was a partner at Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker LLP, where he founded the firm’s corporate and finance practice in San Francisco.
He sits on the boards of Integral Development Corp., a provider of automated liquidity and trading systems, and Official Payments, a provider of electronic payment solutions.
Morgan earned his B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Colorado and his M.B.A. from the University of San Francisco.
